As I gave a brief preview of in the last post, on Saturday 21st March I participated in my first real ‘Megagame’. What’s a Megagame, I hear you ask? I’m going to have to disappoint you there, because I still have no idea. No, honestly, I’m sitting here intent on writing a few thousand words to induce some understanding of what it was that I was involved in, and I have absolutely no idea how to do the experience justice.
Let’s start from the beginning.
So says DEATH.
No, no, I’m certain that can’t be right. Only 28 days? Are you sure? Hmm.
Suddenly we’re already in February and 2015 is well under way. Time, entirely predictable and yet always surprising; funny the way that works.
After the slightly manic December (and November, and October…) January was a bit quieter. Only a bit, mind, I look back on the calendar and there’s still a fair bit in there! All pretty low key, though; here’s a run-down.
The last post recounted our final bits of Melbourne before flying back to London; to break the cliffhanger I’ll reveal that, yes, we did make it home!
We’ve said our goodbyes to Dianne and now we’re on a train back into Melbourne. It’s Saturday afternoon, our flight out is Sunday night, we’re getting quite aware of how little holiday there is left now.

Off out of to the country again, Wednesday morning we check out of our second Melbourne hotel. We cheekily leave a bunch of our luggage at the hotel we stayed in a week ago; they’re in a much more convenient place for picking it up again, and we knew from last time that they don’t ask for proof of residence.

Mmmm, tasty friends.
Tuesday is barbecue day – Jimmy’s parents, who met us all a couple of times when they were in London in the past, have invited us all to their place in the suburbs. It’ll be our last big get-together before we all leave for our various homes; obviously it won’t be long until we see the Londoners again but a bit more of a big deal for the unfortunates (I jest, I jest!) staying in Melbourne.

Monday is one of our last designated tourist days – the day is ours until a dinner booking later. To be honest we feel like we’ve mostly run out of the obvious touristy stuff to do in Melbourne now though; makes sense I suppose, we ticked a bunch of stuff off when we were here a couple of years ago a well. Next trip to Australia we’ll probably cut the Melbourne time down to just catching up with people and go explore somewhere else with the extra time.
