Some small silver lining today – the builders are taking off until January 4th.

That I see this as a positive should tell you all you need to know. We’re living in just two rooms (study and bedroom), microwave wedged into a mostly-taken-over living room, temporary toilet, no sinks, a sit-down shower; and yet, the thought of not having to deal with building issues for ~10 days still sounds better than them working from Monday and it being finished a week sooner.

The main relief is that for 10 days we can more-or-less relax amidst the rubble. Nothing can be delivered or done wrong that we then have to stress over getting resolved. We might get a sleep in. We might get a chance to forget some of the rubbish we’ve had to deal with recently.

So, yeah, surprising that I can see it as a good thing, but we’ll take what we can get at this point.
